Baseball Comes Up Short in Rubber Game at Liberty

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty (19-20, 10-8 ASUN) scored early on and stayed ahead as North Florida (22-18, 8-10 ASUN) baseball dropped the rubber game in Virginia, 9-3, Sunday, April 23.

Behind the Line Score
  • Liberty was the first to take the lead for the first time in the series, pushing across three runs in the first inning on two walks, a single up the middle, error and sac fly.
  • Cam Foster homered to left and Brayden Horton laced an RBI single to extend Liberty's lead.
  • The Flames put up two more on a hot grounder up the middle with the bags loaded.
  • UNF got on the board in the fifth. Peyton Sybrandt and Matthew Clements started the session with singles and Austin Brinling hooked an 0-2 curveball into the right field corner.
  • Liberty got that one back in the fifth after a pair of stolen bags and sac fly plated Jaylen Guy.
