Softball Suffers Road Defeat to No. 15 Florida

Third Consecutive Game Seeing At Least Four Pitchers

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (19-19) dropped a midweek matchup at No. 15 Florida (29-10), falling 6-1 to the Gators in Gainesville.

The Ospreys kept it scoreless through two, but a three-run inning from UF in the third inning gave the hosts enough cushion to keep the lead. Logan Jackson hit an RBI double to score a run in the seventh, but it was too late to form any kind of rally on the road.

  • The Ospreys kept it scoreless through the first two innings after a play at home got a UF runner out in the second inning.
  • UF took a 3-0 lead in the third, but more potential damage was prevented after a great catch from Chloe Culp in right field.
  • A walk from Kirsten Caravaca and a hit from Chloe Culp put runners on base for UNF, but they were left stranded in the fourth.
  • Another run was added by the Gators in the fourth, but back-to-back stellar defensive plays kept it a four-run game.
  • In the sixth, UF tacked on more insurance with a pair of two-out runs.
