JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF baseball put up crooked numbers in frames six through eight, but Fairfield's early lead was too much to overcome as the Ospreys' (10-7) comeback attempt came up short in a Sunday slugfest with Fairfield, 17-13, March 12.
Blake Pound and
Jakob Runnels both had multi-RBI home runs in the loss, bringing North Florida to six-straight games with at least one home run. The late long balls nearly lifted UNF to an unprecedented comeback as the Ospreys once trailed by as much as 13-1.
The Stags (6-6) took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never relinquished the lead despite North Florida still emerging with the series win.
