JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (3-2) split another twin bill with a run-rule win against Cleveland State (0-2) and a loss to Penn State (2-0) in the UNF-JU Invitational on Friday evening at UNF Softball Complex.
The Osprey offense was on fire against CSU with a season-high 10 runs scored, along with 10 hits. A bases-clearing double from
Chloe Culp in the bottom of the fifth was the de facto walk-off winner in the eight-run victory over the Vikings.
Ashley Connor made the most of her debut as an Osprey with a combined 9.1 innings pitched against both Cleveland State and Penn State. She started against the Vikings with no earned runs allowed, while she came in relief later in the night against the Nittany Lions to also allow no earned runs in just over five innings pitched.

Connor didn't permit an earned run over four innings of action, but the offense stole the show with at least a run scored in four of the five innings played in the 10-2 run-rule win over Cleveland State.
