Softball Sweeps Saturday Slate Against Memphis and Cleveland State

Hermeling, Channell Both Hit Home Runs in Victories

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (5-2) swept back-to-back games for the first time on the year with big wins over Memphis (2-7) and Cleveland State (0-4) on day two of the UNF-JU Invitational on Saturday evening at the UNF Softball Complex.

The Ospreys started the day with their third run-rule win of the season with bats exploding for at least a run in each of the four innings up at the plate. They continued their success into the night with three runs scored in the second inning to lift them over Cleveland State for the second time this season.

Regan Hermeling and Savannah Channell both mashed homers over the left field wall to help the offense score a combined 12 runs. Ashley Connor and Izzy Kelly each took control in the circle to combine for eight strikeouts and only allow three runs.
