JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Logan Jackson was the hero for the Ospreys after hitting a walk-off three-run bomb to right center to lift North Florida softball (2-1) over Georgetown (0-3), 3-1, in the River City Leadoff finale on Sunday afternoon at the UNF Softball Complex.
The Ospreys played well on defense with only one run allowed, but windy conditions limited the offense through most of the game with only one hit in the first six innings. Down one run entering the seventh inning,
Hadlee Reichert and
Kayla Harper each reached base to set up the game-winner for Jackson.
The senior from Longwood, Fla., and former ASUN All-Tournament Team selection from last season mashed the third homer of her career and her first since the 2021 season.
Izzy Kelly also put up big numbers in the the circle with the second complete-game performance of her career to earn a 2-0 record as a starter on the season.

Behind the Line Score
- Georgetown had two reach, but Kelly worked a pop out and groundout to strand two runners in the top of the first.

- No good offensive opportunities occurred for either side through the third inning.
- Georgetown threatened again with a pair of base runners, but Kelly notched consecutive strikeouts.
- Glover ripped a single past shortstop in the fourth to get UNF in the hit column, but Georgetown prevented any other damage.
- A sac-fly RBI from Regan Hermeling was negated after a failure to report a pinch hitter, which led to UNF loading the bags but worked a fly out to end the inning still scoreless.
- Kelly stranded another Georgetown runner in scoring position to keep things even in the sixth.
- The Ospreys had two reach in the bottom of the sixth getting to second and third, but Georgetown worked out of it.
- UNF allowed their first run of the game after an RBI double from the Hoyas in the seventh.
- After a hit by pitch on Reichert and a successful bunt single from Harper, Jackson took the ball out of the yard to walk off the weekend with a 3-1 win in the River City Leadoff finale.
