BOCA RATON, Fla. - For the fourth-straight year, North Florida picked up a win over a Power Five team as UNF women's tennis (1-1) swept Kansas State (0-1), 4-0, on Saturday, Jan. 21.
This win over Kansas State gives UNF its seventh win all-time over a Power Five team, with four of those wins being earned under Head Coach
Catherine Dunagan. During her tenure, UNF has defeated Power Five teams such as No. 25 Ole Miss, Penn State, Missouri and Iowa State.
The Ospreys secured the doubles point as
Kit Gulihur and
Ana Paula Melilo, along with
Isabel Oliveira and
Jasmin Makela, won 6-3 respectively. The third doubles match was left unfinished.
In singles, Gulihur won in two sets on the first court, followed by
Annabelle Davis who also won in straight sets in second slot.
Kendall Nash finished in two sets, giving UNF the 4-0 win.
Megan Forster, Makela, and Oliveira's matches were left unfinished.
The Ospreys travel to Clinton, S.C. to face Presbyterian Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m.
