Fall 2022 Student-Athlete Networking Mixer Reaches New Heights

Record Number of Student-Athletes Attend Event Featuring 27 Employers
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The latest edition of the recently formed University of North Florida Athletics Career Mixer was a record-setting evening as over 100 student-athletes were able to network with 27 employers present at UNF's Adam W. Herbert University Center Tuesday, Sept. 27.
"The student-athlete career mixer was a huge success," Assistant AD for the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence Tara Sunquist said. "Despite preparations for Hurricane Ian, we had a record number of student-athletes attend the event. We are extremely grateful for our amazing partnership with UNF Career Services and we would like to thank them for all of their hard work."
The fall 2022 UNF Athletics Career Mixer was presented by CSI Companies and also made possible by UNF Career Services, as UNF conducted its third mixer since beginning the event during the fall of last year.Â
While the impending impact of Hurricane Ian mitigated the ability for some employers and students to attend, a record 114 students attended the event to meet with organizations such as Amazon, Bank of America, CSI Companies, Southeast Orthopedic Specialists and more. All told, 35 employers registered for the event, with eight not being able to attend.
"We have amazing student-athletes and we are excited to provide opportunities for them to share their abilities while making connections in the community and with future employers," Sunquist said.Â
A total of 85 students attended the inaugural event held at the UNF Arena in the fall of 2021, while 97 attended the spring 2022 event held at the Adam W. Herbert University Center.Â
