SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Stetson will travel to Jacksonville this weekend with a 2-1-3 record, including a conference win already under their belt against the newest ASUN opponent, Queens (N.C.). The Hatters spent this past weekend on a road trip in California, where they recorded draws against UC-Riverside and Cal State Fullerton.
Emmett Rutkowski enters his third season as the head coach at Stetson and is coming off a 2021 campaign where he went 8-7-2. The Hatters made it to the ASUN Championship tournament, where they knocked off No. 5 seed, Liberty, but faltered to the top-seeded Lipscomb squad in the semifinals.
The leading goal scorer for Stetson to start the season has been Luis Lara Delgado with two goals off of three shots on goal. He is one of eight Hatters to have scored a goal this season, but remains the only player on the team to have multiple goals.
Goalkeeper Owen Jack is another name to look out for on Saturday evening, as he has saved 22 shots on goal in five starts in 2022. He also has two shutout performances under his name and has only allowed one score per game.
