Softball Falters in Regular-Season Finale Against Liberty

Glover Notches Two of Three Hits, Arends Tosses 131 Pitches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (39-15, 16-8 ASUN) kept things close throughout most of the game, but ultimately suffered a loss in its regular-season finale against Liberty (38-14, 21-0 ASUN) at the UNF Softball Complex Sunday, May 1.

The Ospreys had three hits on the day with two of them coming from Shannon Glover, who also had a solo home run off the foul pole to tie the game in the fourth inning. Halle Arends tossed a career-high 131 pitches through a complete-game performance despite taking the loss.

UNF finished its regular season slate with the most wins since the 2013 season with 39 victories through 54 games. They can match their D-I program record of 42 victories with three wins in the ASUN Softball Tournament next week.
