Softball Clinches ASUN Tournament Bid After Wins at Stetson

Five Home Runs Combined In Both Games

DeLAND, Fla. - North Florida softball (39-11, 16-4 ASUN) took its winning streak to 10-straight games after a road doubleheader sweep against Stetson (19-28, 8-9 ASUN) at Patricia Wilson Field. The pair of wins against the Hatters clinches a spot for UNF in next month's ASUN Championship tournament.

The Ospreys had their best offensive game of the season in the first doubleheader game with season-highs of 14 runs, 13 hits, 12 RBI and three home runs in their 14-1 win. The Ospreys added on two more home runs in the second game in their Saturday sweep against Stetson.

Shannon Glover has the hottest bat on the team the past three games, going a combined 9-for-12 with six RBI, six runs, and three home runs. Halle Arends continues to dominate in the circle for the Ospreys, as her past three games have included 28 strikeouts in 15.2 innings pitched, as well as only two earned runs and seven hits allowed.

Three home runs in the first three innings for the Ospreys, along with eight runs scored in the fourth inning, launches them to a 14-1 victory for their largest win margin of the season.

Behind the Line Score
- Ospreys struck first with a solo shot from Glover to kick things off in the second inning.
- Hayley Bejarano shot an RBI-single to right field to score a runner, followed by a three-run bomb by Bailee Aguigui to open the game up at 5-0.
- Glover had another ball go over the fence in the very next inning to give her two homers on the day.
- Back-to-back two-run RBI-doubles from Kayla McGory and Paige Pfent, as well as a one-run RBI-double from Glover, expanded the lead for the Ospreys to go up 11 runs.
- Another pair of runs were scored off the throw on a steal, along with a fielding error by the Hatters.
- The fourth-inning scoring run continued after a single by Kayla Harper scored the 14th run of the game for UNF.
- Stetson scored a run late in the fifth to prevent an Osprey shutout, but Izzy Kelly was able to close out the first game of the doubleheader for the 13-run win.

Another scoring explosion of six runs in the fourth inning for the Ospreys helps them come back from one run down to secure the second win of the day.

Behind the Line Score
- The Ospreys started strong once again with a single up the middle by Savannah Channell to send home a runner and go up one in the first inning.
- Stetson responded in the third by drawing two bases-loaded walks to take their first lead of the day up 2-1.
- It didn't take long for UNF to take the lead back, as Abi Annett drilled one over the fence in left field to tie the game back up.
- A single from Harper was able to score Bejarano from second, as well as Regan Hermeling on the throw back to the pitcher, to go up two runs.
- Pfent opened the game up just two batters later sending a long shot into the trees to take a 7-2 lead.
- Stetson scored again on a home run to make it a four-run game, but back-to-back strikeouts from Arends wrapped up the doubleheader Saturday sweep.

- Clinched top-three spot in division to make the ASUN Championship tournament after pair of wins against Stetson.
