Ospreys Travel to FGCU to Face Stetson in the ASUN Quarterfinals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis closed out the regular season 15-7 and 6-2 in ASUN play, looking to claim its first title since the 2018 campaign as UNF takes on No. 5 Stetson in the ASUN Championship Quarterfinals Friday, April 22. 

The tournament features the top six seeds in the ASUN, with the first two seeds in FGCU and Kennesaw State earning byes. UNF is the fourth-seeded team, looking to advance to the semifinals with a win against Stetson.

Stetson: The Ospreys face the Hatters for the 23rd time  … UNF is 15-7 against Stetson …the last time these two teams met was March 20, 2022 in the regular season … the Ospreys won that meeting, 4-3, in Deland, Fla ... The Ospreys are 0-2 against the Hatters at a neutral site.

North Florida men's tennis blanked Bellarmine (5-15, 1-7 ASUN) to conclude the regular season, downing the Knights on the road, 7-0, Saturday, April 16 in Louisville, Ky. With the win, North Florida (15-7, 6-2 ASUN) concludes the regular season 15-7 and 6-2 in conference play.

The Ospreys are slated as the four seed in the conference tournament, putting the Ospreys against fifth-seeded Stetson in the ASUN Championship First Round Friday, April 22 in Fort Myers, Fla.

The winner advances to take on number one FGCU in the ASUN Championship Semifinals Saturday, April 23. 

Tournament Format
The 2022 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship will be a six-team, single-elimination tournament contested over three days. The top-six teams based on regular-season conference standings will advance to the tournament. The No. 1 seed will face the winner of the No. 4 seed vs. No. 5 seed in the first Semifinal match, while the No. 2 seed will take on the No. 3 seed vs. No. 6 seed winner in the other Semifinal match. First Round matches will be contested on Friday, April 22 with Semifinal matches on Saturday, April 23, while the ASUN Championship Final will be held Sunday, April 24.
