STATESBORO, Ga. - North Florida softball (37-11) showed off its versatility on offense and defense with a pair of wins against Georgia Southern (9-26) Wednesday, April 20.
The Ospreys played shutdown defense in the first game with a 2-1 victory in extra innings, while flashing their bats in the second matchup for a 12-0 run-ruled win. UNF run-ruled its eighth opponent of the season in the second doubleheader game.
Halle Arends put up one of the most impressive performances of the season for the Ospreys with 13 strikeouts, which is a career-best mark, in eight innings pitched.
Shannon Glover also had the best performance of her collegiate career with a 4-for-4 night that was one double shy of the cycle.

- Arends started her day hot with three strikeouts swinging in the first inning.
- She came back in the second inning with two more K's to total five through the first two.
- The offense stalled for the first three innings before
Kayla McGory led the fourth with a solo shot off the foul pole to go up a run.
- Arends kept dealing in the circle with another three strikeouts in a row for the second time in the game.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Arends lost her no-hit bid on a shot through the left side that sent home a run, but she was able to prevent further damage to send it to extras.

Bailee Aguigui was able to send a sac-fly to left field to send the runner home from third to go back up a run in the eighth.
- The game was finally put to bed when Arends shut down a pair of batters with a runner on third to pull out the 2-1 win.

- The Ospreys came out swinging after a two-run bomb by Glover, followed by an RBI-double from
Abi Annett in the first to put them up three runs early.
- Glover continued with an RBI-triple, including taking home on a wild pitch, to make it 5-0 through three innings.

Morgan Clausen found herself in a jam with runners on second and third, but got the final out of the inning with a strikeout swinging.
- UNF exploded in the fourth inning that all started with a hustle play to first by
Kayla Harper, in which she scored off a wild pitch.
