BREAK POINT - Men’s Tennis Competes for ASUN Seeding on the Road

Ospreys Travel to No. 72 Liberty and Bellarmine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - No. 70 North Florida men's tennis looks to close out the regular season on a high note with two road matches, first with No. 72 Liberty Thursday and Bellarmine Saturday.

The Ospreys are currently in third in the ASUN at 5-1, one win behind both FGCU and Kennesaw State who tout a 6-1 record. UNF has two matches remaining, as does fourth-place Liberty. 

Series History
Liberty:
The Ospreys face Liberty for the third time ever … UNF is 1-1 against the Flames …the last time these two teams met was April 20, 2019 … the Ospreys won that meeting 4-3 in Deland, Fla ... Ospreys faced the Flames April 6, 2019 and lost that meeting 3-4 in Lynchburg, Va. 
Bellarmine: This will be the first time that North Florida competes against ASUN newcomer Bellarmine.

Scouting Report
Liberty:
Liberty is 8-10 overall and 4-2 in conference play … the Flames are 4-1 at home … the Flames are coming off a loss against No. 36 VCU on Sunday, April 10, 1-6 … Josh Wilson holds a singles record of 25-10. 
Bellarmine: Bellarmine is 5-13 overall and 1-5 in conference play … The Knights are on a four-match losing streak.

Last Time Out
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - If there's one ingredient to really make a Senior Day special, it's a win. Friday North Florida men's tennis not only made sure to do that, but also did so by the way of a 7-0 sweep of visiting North Alabama (3-14, 1-4 ASUN) April 8 in the home finale.

The Ospreys honored Nilo Duarte, Joe Ellis and Jorge Nunez prior to the match, recognizing a group that has tallied 14-combined seasons of experience in the Navy and Gray.

With the win, North Florida (14-6, 5-1 ASUN) finished out the home season 9-1, while improving to 14-6 on the year and 5-1 in the conference.
