BREAK POINT - Men's Tennis Aims to Stay Perfect at Home

Ospreys Host Youngstown State, Butler

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida aims to stay perfect at home and also bump its five-match winning streak up two more matches when it hosts Youngstown State Tuesday and Butler Thursday.

The Ospreys haven't lost since Feb. 13 at Clemson, having defeated Georgia Southern, SC State, UNC Wilmington, South Alabama and Georgia State during its run.

Scouting Report
  • YSU: Coming out of the Horizon League, the Penguins are 5-5 but are 4-1 over their last five matches … YSU has defeated NIU, Niagara, James Madison, Saint Francis and Marquette this spring … the Penguins stay in Florida a day after taking on UNF when they go to DeLand and take on Stetson … Youngstown State has gone 3-6 over each of the last two years respectively.
  • Butler: Butler is 4-6 on the year and is coming off a 6-1 loss to Michigan State … the Bulldogs did down a Big Ten opponent earlier in the year, having defeated Indiana … Butler's Thomas Brennan was named Big East Singles Player of the Week Feb. 23.

- Despite falling behind to Georgia State 2-0, UNF only budged to allow one more point as the Ospreys won 4-3, with Jonas Hartenstein earning the clincher in a three-set tiebreaker Friday, March. 4.

  • The Ospreys have won five-straight matches and are 7-4 on the season.
  • UNF is undefeated at home, winning all five it has played in Jacksonville.
  • North Florida is on its longest winning streak since starting the 2020 spring season off 5-0.
