JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (15-5) impressed once again in its doubleheader matchup against Monmouth with back-to-back victories against the Hawks (1-11) on day two of the UNF-JU Spring Break Challenge. UNF has now won seven-straight games and improves to 12-2 at home.
The Ospreys only allowed one hit in their 1-0 win in game one before following that up with a 10-0 run-rule shutout-win in five innings. It's now six-straight games that UNF has held opponent scoreless, which is the longest streak for the program since 2013.
Halle Arends was the star on the mound for the one-hit performance in the first game while pitching a complete game to notch her sixth win of the season.
Shannon Glover and
Takiya London both had multi-run big flies in the second victory of the day against the Hawks.

Kayla Harper's lone run in the bottom of the first was just enough for the Ospreys to edge Monmouth, 1-0, in the first of two against the Hawks.

Behind the Line Score
- Arends was able to get out of a tough first inning after forcing a groundout with runners on first and second.
- The Ospreys scored the first and only run of the game after
Hayley Bejarano drove in Harper on a RBI-single in the first.
- Arends found success the next three innings going nine up and nine down with relative ease.
- In the bottom of the fifth, UNF had a chance to add some more runs with runners on first and second but the Ospreys couldn't convert.
- Back-to-back swinging strikeouts in the seventh clinched the win for Arends and the Ospreys.

Behind the Line Score
- The first damage of the game started when
Paige Pfent hit an RBI-double to score two runs.
- Glover got a hold of one in the next at bat after sending one over the wall for the two-run bomb.
