Softball Handles Monmouth in Doubleheader

Ospreys Shut Out Six-Straight Opponents For First Time Since 2013

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (15-5) impressed once again in its doubleheader matchup against Monmouth with back-to-back victories against the Hawks (1-11) on day two of the UNF-JU Spring Break Challenge. UNF has now won seven-straight games and improves to 12-2 at home.

The Ospreys only allowed one hit in their 1-0 win in game one before following that up with a 10-0 run-rule shutout-win in five innings. It's now six-straight games that UNF has held opponent scoreless, which is the longest streak for the program since 2013.

Halle Arends was the star on the mound for the one-hit performance in the first game while pitching a complete game to notch her sixth win of the season. Shannon Glover and Takiya London both had multi-run big flies in the second victory of the day against the Hawks.
