
Fletcher Wins 100 Back, Swimming Completes Day One at FGCU

FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Florida swimming opened up day one of its dual meet at FGCU on Friday afternoon. Annie Fletcher brought home a first-place finish in the 100 back, while Ashley Cozad and Makenzie Blaakman finished second in the 1650 free and 400 IM respectively.
FGCU 122, UNF 43
- Fletcher recorded her second-consecutive win in the 100 back with a time of 57.64 ... she also won the 100 back in the spring season opener at Georgia Southern last week with a time of 59.84.
- Cozad placed second in the 1650 free with a time of 17:47.87 ... Gabriella Reeves following right behind her in fourth at 18:06.62.
- Blaakman and Esther Quackenbush both performed well in the 400 IM placing second and third with times of 4:36.73 and 4:39.32.
- Allie Larrimore posted a time of 2:11.19 to finish third in the 200 fly ... Madison Reynolds also notched a time of 2:16.09 in the race.
- Brianna Boreham and Julianna Graf, along with Fletcher and Cozad, swam in the 200 medley relay and put together a third-place finish with a time of 1:48.35.
- Other top swimmers for the Ospreys were Marcia Shaw in the 50 free (24.40) and the 200 free (1:57.18), as well as Isabella Giresi in the 100 breast (1:06.75).

North Florida will continue to compete in day two of their meet with FGCU on Saturday at 12 p.m. Events will include the 400 medley relay, 500 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 200 freestyle relay.
