Men's Tennis Begins Three-Match Road Stint

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After a 7-0 sweep of Charleston at home, North Florida men's tennis gets right back to play on the road with a three-match road stint beginning with South Florida Saturday, Feb. 5.

Series History
USF: UNF and USF are meeting for the 11th time ... the Ospreys have faced USF on the road seven times ... North Florida and South Florida last faced off Feb. 27 of last year, a 5-2 win for the Bulls ... UNF is looking for its first win against USF in series history ... the series dates back to Feb. 15, 1986.

Scouting Report
USF: USF is 1-2 on the year ... the Bulls are coming off an appearance at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Athens, Ga. ... USF downed Virginia Tech, 4-2, Sunday, Jan. 30, advancing to the finals match against No. 7 Georgia ... top singles player, Chase Ferguson, earned a win at the top slot, notching the lone point for USF in its loss to a tough Georgia team ... UNF's other loss came against Georgia State, a 4-3 defeat in Atlanta ... USF downed Duke in the NCAA Tournament First Round last season before coming up just short against TCU.

North Florida men's tennis grabbed the momentum with a doubles win and all six singles slots took care of business as the Ospreys (1-2) swept Charleston (0-2) in the home opener on a crisp Sunday afternoon from the UNF Tennis Complex.

Checking In
UNF has faced Florida State, Miami and Charleston in the first three matches of the season ... Jonas Hartenstein is 2-1 on the season and is coming off his first top-slot singles win of his career in UNF's 7-0 win against Charleston ... Hartenstein also nabbed a win at the second position in his match against FSU ... newcomer Bruno Vietri earned his first Division I win in a three-set comeback victory Sunday against Charleston.

What's in Store?
UNF will return to Jacksonville for a week of practice before going to the Carolinas for matches at UNC Asheville Saturday, Feb. 12 and Clemson Sunday, Feb. 13 ... UNF's next home match is Feb. 20 against Georgia Southern, kicking off a stint of four-straight matches at home in a week's time.
