JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (8-2) suffered its second loss of the season in a defeat to No. 3 Florida (11-0), 7-1, Tuesday, Feb. 22 from the UNF Softball Complex.
Tonight marked the first game between these two teams hosted at North Florida in 12 total meetings. It's also the first time UNF has played a ranked team since going up against No. 20 UCF last year.

Behind the Line Score
- Florida jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second after a triple was followed by an error.
- UF tacked on two more runs after a pair of throwing errors allowed the Gators to take extra bases.
- The Ospreys were held to one hit through innings.
- Another unearned run came in the fifth, giving UF a 4-0 lead. It scored another on a RBI single in the sixth and two more in the seventh to close out the Gators scoring.

Paige Pfent knocked her first homer of the season and the ninth of her career in the bottom of the sixth to prevent the shutout.
