BREAK POINT - Men’s Tennis Hosts Two Matches to Open Home Stand

Ospreys Host Georgia Southern, SC State

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis continues non-conference play with two home matches to open a four-match home stand. North Florida hosts Georgia Southern tomorrow and SC State Monday, Feb. 21.

Both matches will be played at the UNF Tennis Complex.

Series History
Georgia Southern: UNF has dominated a long-time series with the Eagles … UNF paces the series, 23-7, having won seven consecutive matches against Georgia Southern … North Florida is 15-4 against Georgia Southern at home.
SC State: UNF is 4-0 against SC State … North Florida has defeated the Bulldogs three times at home … the last time these two teams met was in 20120 when North Florida won 4-3.

Scouting Report
Georgia Southern: The Eagles are 3-2 on the year … Georgia Southern was supposed to play Coastal Carolina Feb. 13, although that match was postponed due to rain … GSU is coming off three-straight wins, having downed Gardner-Webb, College of Charleston and UNC Greensboro … its lone losses have come against Florida State and Furman … the Eagles are set to play Stetson today.
SC State: SC State comes into play with a winning record and has yet to play a home match this season … the Bulldogs have 10 on their roster … SC State is led by Hardeep Judge … South Carolina State won last year's MEAC Championship.

After a tightly contested doubles point went in Clemson's favor, the host Tigers (5-2) pulled away in singles play as North Florida men's tennis (2-4) concluded its weekend road swing in the Carolinas with a 6-1 loss to Clemson Sunday, Feb. 13. Jonas Hartenstein nabbed a win at one singles and North Florida nearly grabbed two more singles points before falling in two ten-point tiebreakers.
