UNF Women’s Soccer Great Earns Non-Roster Invitee Position
ORLANDO - North Florida women's soccer great Thais Reiss was tabbed to the 2022 Orlando Pride preseason roster as announced by the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) team Tuesday, Feb. 1.
Reiss is one of 29 players on the preseason roster, with Reiss joining eight other midfielders on the preseason roster.
The league's Challenge Cup is set to begin March 19, with a 22-game regular season following.
The Pride joined the NWSL in the 2016 season, becoming the tenth organization added to the league. The squad plays their home games at Exploria Stadium in downtown Orlando.
A five-year letterwinner in the Navy and Gray, Reiss played in 77 contests, starting 73 while scoring 42 goals and generating 102 points during her tenure.
The Curitiba, Brazil, native was the 2020 ASUN Player of the Year, a four-time First Team All-ASUN selection, one-time Second Team All-ASUN pick and was also ASUN Freshman of the Year in 2017.
Reiss earned United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region honors in all five seasons and picked up five-career ASUN Player of the Week honors.
The midfielder was clutch, finishing first in UNF history and second in the ASUN's history in game-winning goals. She posted the second-most goals in program history and 10th-most in the ASUN.
