Ospreys Dominate Fourth Quarter in Season-Opening Win Against Warner

Rougier Records Double-Double, Swann Sisters Combine For 33 Points

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball (1-0) debuted on the new CSI Companies Court and brought home a season-opening victory against Warner (1-2), 92-63, on Monday evening at UNF Arena.

Kaila Rougier had a career night to start off her sophomore campaign with her first-ever double-double as an Osprey with 10 points and 10 rebounds. She was just shy of the triple-double mark, as she had seven total assists against the Royals.

The Ospreys outscored Warner, 32-7, in the fourth quarter, including nine points scored by Jaelyn Swann, to run away with the 29-point win to open the season. Lyric Swann joined her sister with a stellar Osprey debut leading the team with 18 points, while also playing well-rounded ball with five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

First Half: The Ospreys scored their first points of the season off a Rougier jumper 20 seconds into the game ... J. Swann drained the first shot from behind the line on the year to give UNF a 7-1 lead ... Warner made a late push in the first quarter with eight straight points, but it was stopped by a three from L. Swann ... UNF ended opening quarter on an 11-2 run with eight of those points scored by L. Swann ... Warner opened with another scoring in the second quarter, but UNF responded with a 10-3 run lead by Elysa Wesolek scoring three field goals in that span ... a made three and two free throws closed the first half with the Ospreys up by eight.

Second Half: UNF opened the second half strong with Brianna Livingston draining back-to-back buckets ... Kristy Hamze followed in Livingston's footsteps with consecutive three-pointers for the Ospreys ... UNF finished the third quarter on a high note with two scores in the final eight seconds to go up four heading into the fourth ... a pair of threes from J. Swann expanded the lead to 13 points for UNF, which forced a timeout from Warner ... Ospreys dominated throughout the fourth quarter, outscoring the Royals, 32-7, to end the game with a 29-point victory in the home-opener.
