UNF Notches 14 Top Three Finishes and Nine Personal Bests

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida swimming competed in its final meet of the month as it hosted the Savannah College of Art and Design for Senior Day Friday, Oct. 28. UNF honored senior Ashley Cozad, recognizing her for all of her success and leadership as an Osprey. Despite tallying 14 top three finishes, the Ospreys fell short in a tightly contested meet.

Also of note, freshman Faith Mutschler finished with the second fastest time in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) in the 500 free, posting a mark of 5:05.28.

CLIPBOARD NOTES

McKenna Fiore, Madison Reynolds and Madelyn York all competed in their first official swims of the season after taking part in time trials last week at the FSU Quad Meet
Mutschler won the only individual event for the Ospreys, touching the wall first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.28
The group of Sara Maschmeier, Victoria Torres, Claire Kerber and Kate Eaton took home first place in the 200 medley relay, finishing in 1:49.64
Allea Jensen marked two personal bests on the day, both coming as splits in the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay
Victoria Torres swam a personal best in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.62, while finishing second
Mutschler and Torres paced the Ospreys in points with 12 and eight respectively
This was the first-ever meeting between UNF and SCAD
The Ospreys are 1-2 in home meets this competition season
