UNF Partners With NGU Sports Lighting, LLC. to Achieve Lighting Enhancements
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The facility enhancements continue to roll in for University of North Florida Athletics as the department announces lighting upgrades for multiple facilities.
UNF partnered with Graybar and NGU Sports Lighting, LLC. for its upgrades. The UNF Arena, Harmon Stadium (baseball), UNF Softball Complex and UNF Tennis Complex all received lighting upgrades, taking on more energy efficient LED lighting systems.
"The lighting upgrades at the athletics facilities will be a game changer for the student-athletes, as well as Osprey fans," Director of Athletics Nick Morrow said. "We are proud to team up with Graybar and NGU Sports Lighting to provide an enhanced game day experience for student-athletes and fans, while also improving the broadcast production level for fans watching at home. A special thanks goes out to sponsors for making this project a reality, especially CSI Companies."
Not only do student-athletes, spectators, officials and game day staff benefit from the enhanced lighting but broadcasting and production quality ameliorates to NCAA broadcast levels. This improvement is particularly impactful for UNF's ESPN+ and SWOOPLife Live broadcasts, vastly improving the quality of nighttime broadcasts.
Upgrades to lighting are also expected to be completed at the shared use turf field, as well as The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex. LED lighting upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of the year, a benefit to the general student body population and UNF's student-athletes.
"NGU is excited about its partnership with Graybar and UNF," NGU Sports Lighting CEO Mike Lorenz said. "With common goals, we are implementing state of the art LED lighting solutions across multiple facilities on UNF's beautiful campus."
Those at UNF's athletics events will now be able to enjoy the popularized strobe lighting used by many facilities and venues around the country, adding another exciting element to events hosted at UNF.
"The student-athlete and fan experience will be vastly enhanced throughout these fields, courts, complexes and arenas," Lorenz said. "We are also proud to light up UNF with the Ephesus Sports fixtures. Collaborating with UNF and Graybar is an honor as we all share the same values of quality, safety and sustainability."
