JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - For the first time this season, UNF plays matches outside of the state of Florida when it goes to Fort Worth, Texas, for TCU's Fight in the Fort. 
North Florida plays Houston Baptist and host TCU Thursday before concluding the weekend with a match against Louisiana Tech.

1. Last Time Out
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - From the opening to final whistle, UNF volleyball (6-0) held firm control of the match as it swept Davidson (3-2) en route to the UNF Invitational crown Sunday, Sept. 5.

2. Series History
Houston Baptist: North Florida and Houston Baptist have met once … HBU took that match, 3-1, in 2016.
TCU: This will be the first-ever meeting between these two teams on the indoor side of things.
LA Tech: Louisiana Tech and North Florida meet for the first time.

3. First Things First
For the first time since 2005, North Florida volleyball defeated a Power Five opponent in Virginia Tech … UNF downed the Hokies, 3-2, winning the last three points to evade a Va Tech match point and win set five, 16-14 … with the win, UNF also earned its best start to a season in its Division I history … the Ospreys are 6-0 to start the year for the first time since 2003 when UNF was a Division II institution.

4. A Balancing Act
If it's not one Ospreys, its another -- UNF has thrived on its balanced offense this year as its received production from a variety of threats … the Ospreys have eight different players with at least 1.4 kills/set and six with over 30 kills through six matches … three different Ospreys have paced the team in kills at least once this season … Dariana Hollingsworth-Santana, Anna Butler and Solimar Cestero have combined for eight double-digit kill performances.

5. Make a Note
UNF is one of 43 teams in Division I with a perfect record still … the Navy and Gray rank in the top 50 statistically as a team in two categories: opponent's hitting percentage (.136 - 26th) and service aces (43 - 32nd) … middle blocker Bre Walp played right down the road from TCU at UT Arlington before transferring into UNF … Walp is 16th in the country with her 32 blocks thus far … Annie Antar and Julianna Askew have over 100 assists each.

Houston Baptist: The Huskies are coming off a straight-sets loss to in-city rival Rice ... HBU is 5-3, earning wins against San Diego State, Lamar, Prairie View A&M and Louisiana Tech ... Houston Baptist has played strong defensively, holding opponents to a .119 attack percentage ... at the service line, HBU has landed 43 aces, allowing just 28 ... Kaley Feris does HBU's work at libero, while Ebonie Ballesteros' leads the team with 30 blocks ... 
TCU: The Horned Frogs are 3-2 and on a three-match winning streak ... TCU swept UMBC, UT-Rio Grande Valley and Nicholls State in the Cowtown Classic ... TCU was swept by No. 2 Wisconsin and No. 7 Minnesota in Madison, Wis. to start the season ... junior outside hitter Julia Adams was named to the All-Big 12 Preseason Team ... she earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors in the 2020-21 season ... the Horned Frogs are hitting .236 as a team, holding opponents to a .175 mark ...
