JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On a blustery afternoon,North Florida softball split with cross-town rival Jacksonville in the ASUN South Divisional Series. JU grabbed the opening win, 2-0 before the Ospreys grabbed a 5-2 victory to force a third game in the series.

How it Happened
- Neither team could get anything going through the opening four innings.
- JU scored on an RBI double and then a high chopper towards third base allowed a run to score from second.
- UNF had a chance in the bottom of the fifth when Logan Jackson led off with a double and was replaced on the bases. On a Kayla Harper bunt single that rolled toward short stop, the runner went to third and waved home, but the Dolphins got the runner at home to end the threat.
- In the sixth, Rebecca Koskey hit a two-out triple to put another runner on, but once again JU got the out as the visitors stranded seven runners on board.

How it Happened
- In the second game, the Ospreys struck first with back-to-back singles from Ashley Goebel and Koskey to score their first runs of the day and take the early 2-0 lead.
- North Florida held on to the lead until the top of the fourth when back-to-back doubles cut into the Osprey lead, 2-1.
- The Osprey grabbed another run on Paige Pfent singled to score Taylor Engman who also reached on a single. Whitty got the next batter to foul out, but in a bizarre rundown, Kayla McGory escaped as she brushed past home for the 4-1 lead.
- Goebel then singled to bring home Pfent for the final run.
- Jacksonville tried to rally in the seventh inning scoring thanks to three hits and a walk, but Arends got out of a bases loaded jam with a final pop out to force the third game.
OF NOTE
- Goebel led the team with a 4-for-6 outing including two RBI in game two.
- Koskey, Pfent and Engman each recorded three hits on the day
- Clausen fanned six in her complete game, while walking just one.
- Pfent extended her reached base streak to 13 and hit streak to five.
- Goebel leads the team with a seven-game hit streak, while Koskey is on six.

North Florida is in a must-win situation at 1 p.m. Saturday. The winner heads to the ASUN semifinals at Kennesaw State.
