
Athletics Celebrates Another Banner Semester in the Classroom

JACKSONVILLE -- In a semester that included every sport competing in their official season of play, the North Florida Athletic Department again reached impressive levels of success in the classroom posting a cumulative department GPA of 3.48.
With that stellar mark, which was the second highest semester GPA in program history, North Florida extends its streak of cumulative department GPAs of 3.0 or higher to 20 consecutive semesters. Spearheaded by the dedication and hard work of the Student Athlete Center for Excellence staff and bolstered by the commitment and focus of the student athletes and coaching staffs, UNF has consistently achieved this amazing benchmark. Osprey student-athletes have now completed an academic decade with a department GPA above 3.0.
The department's 19 varsity programs have also recorded cumulative team GPA's of 3.0 or higher in eight of the last 10 semesters. The women's tennis squad led all program's with a 3.79 GPA this Spring, while men's tennis paced the male program's with GPA of 3.63. Fifteen programs boasted higher GPAs in the Spring as compared to the Fall of 2020.
Additionally, 58 student athletes attained perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester while 220 student-athletes recorded GPAs of 3.0 or higher. As a whole, North Florida Athletics saw 163 student athletes earn Dean's List distinctions.
