STATESBORO, Ga. - UNF baseball (9-15) surged for three runs in the third and fourth inning respectively, but Georgia Southern (18-13) scratched across crooked numbers late behind a strong bullpen in UNF's 8-6 loss in Statesboro Tuesday, April 13.

Behind the Line Score
- Georgia Southern took a quick lead in the bottom of the first after Steven Curry opened the frame with a solo home run to left. Zach Chappell got out of a bases loaded jam with a pair of punchouts.
- The Eagles took advantage of a double, wild pitch, walk, sac fly and two-run home run for a 4-0 lead in the second.
- UNF responded with three runs in the third. Abraham Sequera roped a solo home run to right center. Tanner Clark worked a two-out walk, Alex Kachler singled and took second on a bobble in left, and Trey Spratling-Williams singled them both home with a flare down the left field line.
- North Florida nabbed a 6-4 lead in the top of the fourth. Blake Marabell tripled and later scored after a Cade Westbrook fly ball was dropped. Austin Bogart drove a two-run home run to just left of dead center for the lead.
- Georgia Southern evened things, 6-6, in the sixth. Christian Avant singled in a pair with two outs to tie the game.
- The Eagles went ahead for good in the seventh, working runners to second and third before a throwing error put GSU ahead, 8-6.
- The GSU bullpen held the Ospreys down for the final five innings to hang on.
