JACKSONVILLE - Junior
Paige Pfent smacked a home run in the eighth inning of game one to lift North Florida softball past Jacksonville, 6-5, Monday at the Pruitt Softball Complex. Jacksonville took the second game, 12-4 in five.

How it Happened
- North Florida struck first with an RBI single from Ashley Goebel.
- JU took the lead in the second as an error allowed a pair of runs in the first.
- Kayla McGory tied the game with her round-tripper in the third for a 2-2 game.
- In the fourth, a walk and a double from Paige Pfent put two aboard and a ground out brought one in. Brittany Sundermeier's double the scored Pfent for the 4-2 lead.
- A sac fly in the sixth seemed to give UNF a comfortable lead, but Jacksonville had other plans.
- The Dolphins tied the game in the sixth and neither team could score in the final inning to send it to extras.
- Pfent stepped to the plate to lead off the inning and smacked her third home run of the season to give the Ospreys the lead.
- Arends allowed a two-out double and walk in the extra frame, but got the final batter to fly out to secure the win.

How it Happened
- Jacksonville put up a seven-spot in the first inning and it was too much for North Florida to overcome.
- North Florida cut into the lead with three runs in the second, but JU extended its lead to 9-3 in its side of the inning.
- An RBI single in the fifth gave the Ospreys a little hope, but the Dolphins made it a run-rule game with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
