FIVE FACTS - Men’s Tennis Plays Home Match With Georgia State

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis' tough non-conference schedule continues tomorrow when the Ospreys host Georgia State at 2 p.m.

1. Last Time Out
MOBILE, Ala. - UNF men's tennis (2-4) won doubles and singles slots five and six, but losses at positions one through four cost the Ospreys in a 4-3 loss at South Alabama (5-4) Sunday, February 28.

2. Series History
North Florida is 5-6 against the Panthers … North Florida is 4-1 in home matches against Georgia State … the Panthers own a 6-4 mark over the last 10 meetings … UNF downed Georgia State, 4-3, March 7, 2020 in Charlotte, N.C. … Matt Carroll clinched the match.

3. Pair of Firsts
Mississippi State transfer Jonas Hartenstein picked up his first singles win as an Osprey with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the five slot against South Alabama … Joe Ellis started at six singles in the same match, earning a 6-2, 7-5 win … it was Ellis' first victory since picking up a singles win against Georgia State last season.

4. UNF Inventory
UNF newcomers include Rodrigo Crespo, Jonas Hartenstein and Breno Marques. Crespo went 20-10 with Western Michigan in singles play a year ago, while Hartenstein picked up time with Mississippi State. True freshman and Brazil native Breno Marques won't compete this season for the Ospreys. Crespo picked up his first singles win as an Osprey Saturday at Georgia Southern.

5. Scouting Report
Georgia State was 5-8 in the shortened 2019-20 season … the Panthers won the 2019 Sun Belt Conference regular season championship … Georgia State is nine-deep on its roster … Steven and Kevin Huynh and Andrei Duarte are the Panthers' three seniors … Jonathan Wolff was hired as the assistant coach in February 2015 before assuming the role as head coach in 2017 … Georgia State defeated Kennesaw State, 4-0, and fell to Liberty, 6-1, this season.

HOME MATCH COVID PROTOCOLS
This season, due to UNF, ASUN and NCAA Covid-19 protocol, all spectators will be required to view tennis matches from outside the perimeter fencing at the UNF Tennis Complex.

Sight lines will be limited by the windscreen that will remain in place on all fencing. All areas within the perimeter fencing including the areas between courts 1 and 2 as well as the tennis complex restrooms will be closed to spectators and maintained as a team only area due to social distancing requirements. Spectators will be able to access restrooms at Hodges Stadium during all tennis matches. Admission to all matches is free and masks are required while on the UNF Campus.
