JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF men's tennis hosts Furman Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Ospreys' final match prior to the beginning of ASUN competition.
UNF does have two more non-conference matches slated for this year.
1. Last Time Out
CONWAY, S.C. - UNF men's tennis (2-7) took the doubles point, but Coastal Carolina won four of the first five singles points as North Florida fell, 4-3, Wednesday, March 10.
2. Series History
The Ospreys lead the all-time series, 2-1 … Furman and UNF have met once in Jacksonville, a 4-1 win for the Ospreys back in 2015 … the last meeting was January 13, 2018, a 4-2 win for the Paladins.
3. Double Trouble
Nilo Duarte and
Rodrigo Crespo won at singles and doubles against Georgia State … the pair picked up another doubles win against Coastal Carolina … the duo is 5-1 on the season, 4-1 at third doubles … Crespo and Duarte were leading in two other matches before having them left unfinished … the Ospreys have played four doubles pairs.
4. At Home
North Florida will play its fourth home match of the season … UNF did lead 1-0 against Flagler at home before the match was suspended due to rain ... the Ospreys have hosted Georgia State, UCF and Troy …North Florida defeated Troy, 6-1, February 8 … the Ospreys will stay home March 19 for the ASUN opener against FGCU.
5. Scouting Report
Furman is 4-5 and 2-3 in its last five … the Paladins are coming off a 4-3 loss to Elon Friday, March 5 … the Paladins have played another ASUN team this year, defeating Kennesaw State, 5-2 … Furman will play Stetson tonight at 5 p.m. in DeLand … Furman is 27-25 in dual singles play and 11-13 in doubles … Ivan Mitric is 6-2 at one singles … J.J.
