CHARLESTON, S.C. - Despite a 7-0 deficit and 18 total stranded runners, UNF (1-5) still managed to get the tying run to the plate in the ninth. The Citadel (2-2) held off the threat though and got a game-ending strikeout to take Friday's game, 8-4.
Both teams combined for 31 stranded runners. UNF walked seven times, was hit by a pitch four times and put up nine hits, giving the Ospreys plenty of chances. The Citadel cashed in on theirs with a grand slam in the third.

Behind the Line Score
- The Citadel clubbed a double followed by a single, but Robbie Scott came up throwing in right to get the Bulldogs' Noah Mitchell at the plate. Roca stranded two after allowing three hits in the first frame.
- The Bulldogs went up 1-0 in the second on a single, wild pitch and RBI single. Roca got a key groundout to strand the bags loaded.
- The Citadel opened things up with a six-run third. UNF nearly got out of a jam after getting another out at the plate, but Travis Lott hit a grand slam. The Citadel followed with a bloop single, RBI double in the gap and a single to right.
- With The Citadel starter Jake Pilarski out, UNF capitalized on two walks, three hit by pitches and a fielding error to score four in the seventh.
- A walk, steal and single gave the Bulldogs an 8-4 lead in the eighth.
- UNF made it interesting in the ninth. Aidan Sweatt singled, Scott walked and Alex Kachler was hit by a pitch. Reliever Grant Starling got a punchout on a full count with the bags loaded to end it.
