MATCH NOTES: Men's Soccer Plays Final Home Game Against FAU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's soccer (4-6-1) will play their final home match of the season at Hodges Stadium when they face Florida Atlantic in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 7 pm.


WHAT TO KNOW

- Senior Jovoney Brown leads the team in shots and shots on goal, with 18 shots and 10 SOGs, while also scoring two goals this season.
- Goalkeeper Padraic Gilley has 22 saves over the past four games, including a career-high nine saves against Stetson earlier this month.
- Their match against FGCU on Saturday marked the seventh time this season that the Osprey defense has held a team to one goal or less.
- Senior Giovanny Abreu and junior Bendeguz Burka remain the only two Ospreys to start all 11 games this season.
- Burka leads the team in total minutes played, with over 1,000 minutes recorded this season, and has played 86 minutes or more in every game this season.


SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

Florida Atlantic is 7-4-2 on the season with victories over two ASUN opponents in FGCU and Jacksonville. The Owls did lose to Stetson, which is a team that the Ospreys beat on the road earlier this month.

FAU has nine different players with goals recorded this season, including four multi-goal scorers. Filip Jauk leads the team with eight goals in six starts, while Ivan Mykhailenko is right behind him with six goals in seven starts.

Their goalkeeper, Neil Strauber, has started all 13 games and has saved over 50 goals this season. Luis Sailer Fidalgo has also recorded six assists for the Owls this season.


SERIES HISTORY

- North Florida is 3-7 all-time against Florida Atlantic with all three wins occurring at home.
- The Ospreys have been alternating outcomes with FAU recently, as no team has won two in a row in this series since FAU won twice in 2010 and 2011.
- UNF's last win against the Florida Atlantic was during the 2019 season in a 1-0 victory that had a game-winning goal scored by Miguel DeLeon Jr. in the 16th minute.
