10/22/2021 12:00:00 PM

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's soccer (4-5-1) will try to make it three straight wins on Saturday night for the first time since 2016 when they return home to play in-state conference rival Florida Gulf Coast at 7 pm.

WHAT TO KNOW

- Senior Igor Martins scored the game-winning goal last Saturday at Stetson to give UNF their second straight victory. He also was awarded the ASUN Player of the Week honor earlier this week.
- Goalkeeper Padraic Gilley has 20 saves on the season, which includes a career-high nine saves on 15 shots faced this past weekend against Stetson.
- The Osprey defense has held their past two opponents scoreless in both wins and six of their last 10 opponents to one goal or less.
- Senior Jovoney Brown remains the shots and shots on goal leader for UNF with 16 total shots and eight shots on goal.
- Junior Bendeguz Burka continues to lead the team in playing time with 931 total minutes. He is the only player on the team to play at least 85 minutes in all 10 games this season and has played eight games through its entirety.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

After losing in the ASUN Championship final this past spring, FGCU holds a 2-7-1 record with their only wins being at home against Jacksonville and Bellarmine. They have lost four overtime games this season but both of their wins are in ASUN play.

The Eagles have scored 10 goals through 10 games and have averaged just over 12 shots per game. Florida Gulf Coast has more shots and shots on goal than UNF this season, but the Ospreys are averaging a better shot percentage and shots on goal percentage than FGCU.

O'Vonte Mullings is the player to watch for the Eagles, as he leads the team with six goals, including one game-winner, and is the only multi-goal scorer on the team so far this year. Their goalkeeper, Gustavo Vasconcelos, has 40 saves through eight games, but has allowed just under two goals per game this season.
