COFFEY TALK
"Finally we get to swim our first meet of the season. This team has kept their spirits up and are eager to compete against another team. We will also celebrate our seniors prior to the first race so it is always special. FGCU is a very fast team and usually one of the top contenders in the conference. We expect good racing throughout the meet and I am excited to see what our team can do." - head coach
Ian Coffey
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Eagles finished last season with an 8-8-1 mark in dual meets and a 4-1-0 record against conference opponents and hosted Georgia Southern, FIU and Miami in the fall. FGCU returns a majority of last year's team which placed second at the 2020 CCSA Championship. CCSA Swimmer of the Year Petra Halmai is coming off of one of the program's most successful individual seasons in its 14-year history, as she was named a CSCAA First Team All-American after posting the nation's 10th-fastest time in the 200 Breast. Wiktoria Czarnecka and Julia Rodriguez round out the gold-medalist group, having taken home the 50 Free and the 100 Fly, respectively.
AGAINST THE EAGLES
FGCU is undefeated against the ospreys, winning all 13 match ups. The Eagles came to Bolles last in October 2019, grabbing a 185-76 win.
