OSPREY TODAY: Karmeris, Wesner, have Big Days in upset of No. 1 UF

On this day in 2012, it was a complete effort for the Ospreys baseball squad as it stunned No. 1 Florida, 10-5, in front of 2,144 fans at Harmon Stadium.Â

Five Ospreys notched multi-hit games, led by senior first baseman Michael Wesner who had three hits. Senior third baseman Andrew Karmeris went deep and Alex Bacon drove in a pair.

The No. 1 Florida Gators, led by former third overall pick and Golden Spikes Award winner Mike Zunino, took a 1-0 lead in the first. UNF put up a four-spot the following frame and never looked back. The four runs scored by the Ospreys in the second was the most scored in one inning on Florida all season.

UNF would plate one more before Karmeris' 26th career home run gave UNF a 6-1 lead in the fourth. North Florida utilized five pitchers to stave off the Gators.

The 10 runs were the most runs scored on Florida at that point in the season. UNF would go on to finish the season with a 31-24 record.
