THE FACTS: Women's Tennis Plays Penn State, Navy

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -  The Ospreys travel to Kennesaw, Ga., to play Penn State in a neutral site game Saturday before hosting Navy Monday. 

Against Our Opponent
  • North Florida plays both teams for the first time this weekend.

  • UNF starts off the year, 8-1, after defeating Florida Atlantic for the first time since 2009 Monday.

Penn State
  • Penn State enters play with a 4-4 record.
  • The Nittany Lions are coming off a 6-3 win against Emory University.

  • Head coach Alexandra Anghelescu is in her first season with PSU. Anghelescu helped lead the Nittany Lions to 11 wins during the 2019 spring season, the team's most dual-match victories since 2015 as an assistant coach. 

Navy
  • Navy enters play with a 14-2 record and a nine-game win streak featuring five shutouts.
  • The Midshipmen are 11-5 in slot one, 14-2 in slot two and 16-0 in slots three and six.
  • Keith Puryear enters his 12th season as the sole coach of the Navy women's tennis program. 
  • Puryear has led Navy to an all-time record of 209-74 (.739) during the program's first 10 years of varsity play. The Mids are also 40-9 (.816) in Patriot League Regular Season matches and 147-37 (.799) in home dual matches.
