Behind the Line Score
  • South Carolina plated one in the bottom of the first. Noah Myers took a 3-2 delivery into the left center gap for a triple. One pitch later Jeff Heinrich rolled an RBI groundout to score Myers.
  • UNF responded with four runs in the second thanks to two singles, three walks and a South Carolina throwing error. Raff Libunao started the inning with a single and Abraham Sequera and Tanner Clark worked walks. Trey Spratling-Williams singled in one with a roller through the right side and Cade Reich worked a walk to score Sequera. SC pitcher John Gilreath got Grant Grodi to ground to second base, although shortstop George Callil made an errant throw to first on the double play attempt, plating two.
  • Callil made up for his fielding blunder with a two-run home run to left center in the bottom of the second inning.
  • Bryant Bowen tagged a solo home run to left field to even the score at four in the third.
  • Logan Clayton spun the first scoreless frame of the day, turning a smooth one-six-three double play on a comebacker to work around a jam.
  • The game had its third lead change in the fifth when UNF claimed a 5-4 advantage. Tanner May double to left center, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Sequera single up the middle.
  • South Carolina tied the game again in the fifth. Myers punched a single to left, took second on a grounder, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Wes Clarke single hooked inside the left field line.
  • Darin Kilfoyl entered with the bases loaded in the fifth and stranded them loaded after getting Callil to lineout to Libunao in right.
  • The Gamecocks went up 6-5 in the sixth. Braylen Wimmer singled through the left side, moved to second on a sac bunt and Heinrich singled up the middle with two away to score him.
  • UNF had another opportunity in the eighth, but South Carolina escaped. Tanner Clark reached on a fielding error to leadoff the inning and pinch runner Jered Geis stole second. Ricky Presno pushed Geis to third on a groundout but reliever TJ Shook fanned pinch hitter Chris Matthias.
  • SC reliever TJ Shook fanned the side in the ninth for a two-inning save.
