MACON, Ga. -  The UNF women's tennis team took over the Mercer Gridiron Classic this weekend, bringing home titles in both the Singles Flight A and B and the Doubles Flight A. 

In the Singles Flight A final, Lucia Montano beat teammate Valentina Mariotto 6-1, 6-3. Sean Lodzki defeated Kennesaw State's Aspen Jarrett 6-4, 6-4, to take home the Singles Flight B crown.

In the Doubles Flight A bracket, the doubles pairs of Ana Paula Melilo and Montano and Constanza Gorches and Mariotto advanced to the finals. Melilo and Montano defeated their teammates 6-3, to claim the title. 

"We had a great tournament for all of our players," said head coach Catherine Dunagan. "I was proud of how we competed in tough physical conditions. To make the finals competing in five singles and four doubles matches in three days shows a great level of toughness both physically and mentally. We definitely improved this weekend and I'm looking forward to getting back to work this week."
