HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ospreys were the aggressors in the opening period owning a 6-2 shot advantage along with a 6-0 edge in corner kick attempts
- North Florida's forward momentum paid off in the 15th minute as Vanessa Piermont found the back of the net for the early lead | Piermont's shot from the left side of the box finished off a well crossed ball by Thais Reiss
- UNF doubled their lead just over a minute later when Hollyn Knight volleyed a shot from just off the goal line following a perfectly flighted corner kick feed from Kendra Hoffman
- After several minutes of back-and-forth play, North Florida picked up an insurance goal in the 31st minute by Carmel Oliveira, who tracked down a loose ball in the box following a corner kick attempt and ripped a laser into the right side of the goal netting
- Out of the intermission break, Western Carolina looked to turn the tide on the Ospreys using a more attacking style
- The change in pace for WCU resulted in their lone goal of the match as Julia Winter served a ball across the Osprey goal front where Payton Creed ran onto the ball and touched it into the net
- For the match, North Florida held a 6-4 edge in shots, although the Catamounts accounted for the only two shots in the second half
- Senior Kelli Crowley made her first start in the goal and picked up the win with a pair of saves

QUICK KICKS
- After being held scoreless for the first time all season on Friday night, UNF rebounded with three goals on Sunday marking the sixth match with multiple goals scored
- Piermont notched her third goal of the season while Knight and Oliveira earned their first
- With her first assist of the season, Reiss now has tallied a point in seven of nine matches
- Hoffman upped her team leading assist total to three this season
- The win evened up the all-time series with Western Carolina to 1-1

FAULCONER TALES
"I am really proud of our team and their response to our disappointing performance on Friday night. It is always nice to get three goals from three different goal scorers. I think at this juncture of the season, this was an important and needed win. Hopefully, this result gives us some momentum heading into conference play next Sunday. Western Carolina came into the match playing well having won three straight, so we will enjoy this one today and then start getting ready for next week." - Head coach Eric Faulconer

UP NEXT
North Florida concludes its five-match home stand with final pair of contests, hosting South Carolina State on Thursday (Sept. 26 | 7 p.m.) before welcoming Liberty on Sunday (Sept. 28 | 1 p.m.) in the ASUN Conference opener.
