HOW IT HAPPENED
- The visiting Redbirds controlled possession for much of the opening half holding a 7-2 advantage in shot attempts while earning four corner kicks to none for the Ospreys
- Abby Basler, who finished the night with three goals and an assist for Illinois State, notched the first mark on the scoreboard in the 11th minute when her shot from about 25 yards out lofted over the outstretched hand of UNF keeper Rhiannon Conelley and deflected off the bottom of the crossbar across the goal line
- ISU frontline pressure resulted in a second tally as Sarah Lafayette collected the rebound of her first shot off the crossbar and pushed the ball into the net
- Basler closed the opening stanza scoring with her second goal of night, finishing 1v1 following a well slotted pass ahead from Alix McArthur
- Illinois State closed the scoring early in the second half, netting a pair of back-to-back goals. The first came in the 58th minute as Basler returned the favor to McArthur.
- Two minutes later, Basler converted on a through ball from Natalie Vaughn-Low to earn the hat trick for the night.
- For the game, North Florida struggled offensively mounting just three shot attempts while also surrendering 10 corner kick opportunities

QUICK KICKS
- Tonight marked the first time all season that the Ospreys have been held scoreless
- UNF's shot attempts came off the feet of Thais Reiss, Karina Bermudez and Vanessa Piermont
- 28 different players got on the pitch for North Florida in the match
- North Florida limited ISU's Kate Del Fava, the nation's second leading scorer, to just one shot attempt in the contest
- The match marked the first ever meeting between the Ospreys and Redbirds

FAULCONER TALK
"Obviously disappointed as it wasn't a very good effort by our players. As the coach, I have to take responsibility for that because that's the product we put on the field. We have to be better. I thing it starts with just competing from the get go. They out competed us and that's now like back-to-back halves of being outcompeted going back to last weekend. I am proud of the players, some that even got their first minutes of the season, that came off the bench for us and played hard for the team. We are going to take a look at our personnel and maybe some of those players deserve an opportunity to play more." - Head coach Eric Faulconer
