WILMINGTON, N.C. - UNF men's tennis came up just shy of a pair of titles on day three at the Seahawk Fall Invite. Dominik Barton and Nilo Duarte fell in the Flight B Doubles final to a pair from UNCW and Federico Nani had a three-match winning streak come to a close in the Flight C Singles final against UNCW's Dillon Gooch. 

Barton and Duarte went 2-1 on the weekend, earning triumphs against a pair from Presbyterian and Georgia Gwinnett. Nani ended the stay in Wilmington 3-1, earning wins against Coastal Carolina, Georgia Gwinnett and UNCW.

On the winning end of things Sunday was Duarte in singles play. The junior downed Grey Cacciatore of the University of Florida. Duarte grinded out a three-set win, topping the Gator 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (5). Duarte was set to face Davide Innocenti of UNCW although the match was abandoned due to travel curfew.

Coach Lucas' Comments
"We had some good moments this weekend, and also learned a lot about what we need to improve," head coach Matt Lucas said. "That's what the fall is about, matches, experience and improving from match to match. Each guy did some really good things, but they have heaps of growth in their games that they need to work on. Next week is another opportunity to get into specific areas where we need to improve, and then we get to test ourselves again next weekend."
