NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Friday night's series opener at Dugan Field was the epitome of a pitcher's duel. Both starting pitchers went the distance, but Lipscomb's run in the first inning held up as the difference as the Bisons (25-20, 9-7 ASUN) nipped North Florida (26-19, 8-7 ASUN), 1-0, May 3.

Behind the Line Score
- The Bisons took a 1-0 lead in the first after a four-pitch walk to Cade Sorrells led into an RBI double from Zeke Dodson. Left fielder Blake Marabell retrieved the double in the left field corner, fired it into Jay Prather although the throw home got away from Austin Hurwitz.
- Deppermann dominated the rest of the way, allowing only two hits through the next six innings. After a Lipscomb single in the second, Deppermann didn't allow another hit until Tevin Symonette's double off the left field wall to start the bottom of the seventh. Deppermann got out of that inning with a one-to-four sac bunt, strikeout and flyout to center.
- North Florida's best scoring opportunity came in the sixth. Prather reached on a throwing error, Tanner Murphy reached on an infield single that Dodson couldn't handle at third and Abraham Sequera reached on a fielding error on a potential inning-ending double play. But, with the bags loaded, Kachmar recorded a strikeout and flyout.
- Chris Berry was on the wrong end of a loud out atop the eighth inning. On the first play since entering for Josh Martinez in right, Von Watson tracked down Berry's fly ball to right, reeling it in while crashing into the wall.
- Wes Weeks singled with one out in the ninth but was caught stealing to end the contest.
