Behind the Line Score
- UNF scored one after an erratic second inning from FGCU starter, Evan Lumbert. Tanner May, Clark and Murphy walked before David Maberry wore a fastball off the elbow guard, putting UNF ahead, 1-0. Lumbert got Jay Prather to fly to right to end the threat.
- Walks haunted Lumbert and the Eagles again in the third. Alex Reynolds, May and Clark walked before Chris Berry deposited a curveball into left for the 3-0 lead.
- Free passes factored in again, this time for FGCU. Jalen Townsend was hit by a pitch before Richie Garcia and Alex Brait walked. Consecutive RBI groundouts cut UNF's lead to 3-2 in the third. Two more walks tied the game, 3-3.
- Four two-out runs created a 7-3 Osprey advantage in the fourth. David Maberry drew a leadoff walk, ushering Lumbert from the game. Prather lined a single to right one batter later before a one-out single from Blake Marabell loaded the bags. Reynolds rolled one to second, although FGCU couldn't turn the inning-ending double play as UNF went up, 4-3, and extended the inning. Three straight singles coming from May, Clark and Berry, put UNF ahead by four.
- With one away and runners at first and second, Marchese got a timely double play to end the Eagles' sixth.
- The Eagles got within 7-5 in the seventh as Joe Kinker hooked a two-RBI double down the left field line, scoring Keith Stevens and Eric Gonzalez after a single and a walk put them on.
- UNF took the wind out of FGCU's sails with three runs on three hits, an error and a walk. Wes Weeks opened the inning with a leadoff single and was pushed to second on Marabell's sac bunt. Reynolds drew a walk and May singled to right center, scoring Weeks. Reynolds would score as Townsend mishandled the ball in center, pushing May to second. Clark blooped a single to right and Berry scored May with a sac fly to center.
- Jean turned in scoreless eight and ninth innings to secure the second save of his season.
