Behind the Line Score
- Nick Marchese slithered out of a jam in the first inning. Ruben Someillan roped a leadoff single and Dakota Julylia reached on a sac bunt that was mishandled. Angel Camacho chopped a fielder's choice to Abraham Sequera at short, putting runners at the corners with nobody out. Marchese rolled a double play to Jay Prather to end the frame.
- North Florida (17-16, 3-5 ASUN) pounced ahead in the bottom half, putting up a three spot.
- Number 21 Chris Berry drew his 21st walk of the season to start the first. Jay Prather roped his 40th hit of the year to right, pushing Berry to third. Tanner Murphy put UNF ahead 1-0 with a deep sac fly to the warning track in right. Austin Hurwitz tapped a groundout to move Prather to second, Wes Weeks walked and Alex Reynolds ripped an RBI single up the middle for the 2-0 lead. David Maberry completed the scoring with a nice piece of hitting, taking an 0-2 curveball to right to score Weeks.
- The Dolphins got one back in the second on a Cory Heffron solo shot to left.
- JU pecked away with another in the third. Someillan capped a slow roller to Prather at second. The second baseman fielded what was ruled a single, but a running throw was wide, allowing Someillan to move to second. Julylia put down another great bunt, a spinner that was deadened on the cutout of the dirt circle at home. Hurwitz gave the ball a chance to roll foul, although it stayed in play causing him to make a rushed-high throw to first. Angel Camacho went down looking, but a pretty push bunt single from Dubrule scored Someillan.
- An unfortunate ending to the third kept UNF from going ahead 4-2. With Hurwitz on second and Reynolds on first, Maberry roped a single to center. Reynolds was thrown out by Someillan, center to third, before Hurwitz could score.
- UNF did score in the fourth, increasing its lead to 5-2. After Marabell reached on a fielder's choice he stole second and Berry walked. Prather gave himself his 13th multi-hit game in 15 contests with an RBI single to center on a 3-2 pitch. Murphy rocketed a one-hopper off the mound, scoring Berry from second and knocking JU starter Trent Palmer from the game. Hurwitz nearly scored another, but Reagan Wright snagged his frozen rope and doubled up Murphy at first.
- Four singles, two of which were infield knocks, and a seeing-eye chopper through the left side cut UNF's lead to 5-4. Hunter Bowling entered for Marchese and got two strikeouts. JU sent both of its runners in motion on the second punchout, but umpire's interference nullified the double steal. Wright clubbed a single to center one batter later, tying it at five.
- UNF went ahead 8-5 with the long ball.
- The tie didn't last long as Weeks launched a no-doubter to left to start the bottom of the fifth and Blake Marabell launched a two-run shot to left, scoring Reynolds who reached on a hit by pitch.
- The Dolphins put together a pesky seventh to vault them ahead, 10-8.
- Jacob Southern worked a leadoff walk and Duncan Hunter singled sharply to right. Logan Clayton entered with one out for Bowling before allowing a walk. Someillan drove in Southern with a sac fly and Clayton let a wild pitch go, scoring Hunter. Julylia evened the score with an inside out swing that resulted in an RBI double inside the first base bag. Camacho capped it off with a two-run blast to left.
- A good opportunity was squandered in the eighth. Marabell walked and Berry singled down the left field line, but JU's Zach Bryant eventually worked out of a bases loaded pickle by fanning Weeks.
