HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- The Ospreys used a huge first inning to take a lead it never relinquished. A pair of walks and a single from Taylor Engman loaded the bases for Paige Pfent. She sent a short hit to the infield who failed to make the out at third and allow the first run to score.
- Georgetown looked to take advantage of the inning with a double play, but North Florida didn't back down.
- On Kate Davis' walk, the Hoyas tried to throw down at third base, but the ball sailed into the outfield and allowed two more runs to come in.
- Makenzie Griffin and Rindy Bryant each tallied a single before coming around on Tiffany Lower's slam to left field for the 7-0 advantage.
- The Hoyas scratched across a run in the third, but that was all the offense they could muster as Morgan Blourne tossed the full game, fanning six and allowing just four hits
- North Florida added three more runs in the fifth thanks to a lead off home run from Griffin and a pair of RBI doubles from Penrod and classmate Dominica Cocuzza to put the run-rule in effect.
- Despite surrendering a double in the Georgetown side of the inning, the Ospreys got out of the frame unscathed to secure the win.
