- At the 6:57 mark, Sams drilled a jumper just outside the paint to reach the 1,000-point plateau

LAST WORD
"I'm really proud of our resiliency and consistency that we showed not only tonight but all season. We showed some real strength in withstanding everything that happened the last few weeks. There is so much outside "noise" and people in our guys ears and that makes it a challenge for them to get rid of all that. Everybody has an answer or a way to fix it but if you're not here on a daily basis then you don't know or understand. We've never made excuses and we've always made it just about us and about what we can control. This team can be very dangerous with the ability to be really, really special, but it requires a consistent effort on the defensive end and in rebounding. We held them to 32 percent shooting and out-rebounded them by 16 and that is something we need to strive for every night. One thing has been consistent for us and that's protecting the rim. After the game, somebody asked me "Why" and I told them it was irrelevant why and that is relevant is where we are now. We have to turn our attention to NJIT, a team that beat us at home and snapped our home win streak and got us rolling on a bit of a snide. That's our next focus." -- Head coach Matthew Driscoll
