The Short Story:  North Florida men's basketball came up short in a seesaw affair at Austin Peay on Saturday, falling 90-83 in the opening contest of a seven-game road stretch for UNF.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half Notes
- Ospreys got the quick start scoring five of the first seven points of the game
- An 11-2 run by Austin Peay saw them take their first lead of the game, 13-9
- The Govs would hold a lead for the remainder of the half leading by as many as 11 (34-23) following a 9-0 surge late in the stanza
- North Florida closed the half on an 11-4 run getting five points from Ivan Gandia-Rosa and six for Carter Hendricksen
- UNF tallied their lone three-pointer of the opening frame with 2:48 on the clock | Hendricksen made it and was fouled on the shot
- Ospreys shot 50% from the floor and were a perfect 9-of-9 at FT line

Second Half Notes
- North Florida evened the score early in the second half at 43-43 behind a 7-2 spurt
- Minutes later, JT Escobar hit a three followed by four straight points for Wajid Aminu as the Ospreys retook the lead
- The two squads swapped the lead multiple times over the next several minutes of play with neither team ahead by more than two points
- APSU slowly extended a lead late in the contest and converted four free throws in the closing seconds for the final margin

"When you lose every statistical category except one on the road, it puts a heavy amount of pressure on yourself. Shots become that more pressure filled and we also weren't able to get defensive stops. They controlled the tempo and scored 20 points in the last six minutes. When it came down to us needing to get stops we weren't able to get them. For an experienced team like ours, that plays a number of road games like this, we have to find a way to get better and tougher.
