TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The North Florida women's tennis team picked up three singles wins and five doubles wins in the first day at the Seminole All Conference Showdown.
Headling the Ospreys' singles wins were Lucia Montano,
Lea Grinberg, and Constanza Gocrches. Montano and Grinberg got their wins on walkovers. Gorches took down Lee Bernard of MTSU 3-6, 6-4, 10/3.
Doubles pair
Ana Paula Melilo and Montano move on to the Katie Rybakova Doubles Finals tomorrow after picking up wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals. Grinberg and
Florencia Rossi went one-and-one in their round-robin, beating a pair from Arkansas. Pairs
Sean Lodzki and
Valentina Mariotto, as well as Gorches and
Kendall Nash lost in the quarterfinals of their respective doubles brackets, took wins in their consolation semifinals matches.
Due to weather delays, Rossi and Mariotto were unable to compete in their singles matches. Rossi will take on Janvhi Clark of USF and Mariotto will play Raquel Amaro of ETSU tomorrow at 9 a.m.
