FORT MYERS, Fla. -Â UNF's East Coast-traced road trip from Jacksonville to Newark and down to Fort Myers came to a close as North Florida (12-15, 5-7 ASUN) was bested by a streaking FGCU (24-3, 12-1 ASUN) squad Sunday, Nov. 3.

"We competed decently at FGCU and were able to exploit some of their weak rotations," head coach Kristen Wright said. "I liked our effort in set three, we just didn't close out well. In the first two sets we didn't score enough to compensate for so many unforced errors, and that is the name of the game right now. We look forward to an exciting week of volleyball, and we will be ready!"

- Set 1: UNF and FGCU were tied up at 10, although FGCU was big on the block and the serve as it took the opener … The Eagles posted five blocks and three aces … Emma Dixon tallied two blocks and Alessia Venturelli had a pair of aces.
- Set 2: The Eagles' best set came in the second frame as they hit .306 to UNF's .026 … FGCU led throughout, taking a 2-0 lead.
- Set 3: The Ospreys were on the cusp of snapping FGCU's 24-sets won streak in the third, seeing set point with a 25-24 lead … FGCU rallied to win the final three points and earn the sweep … There were 13 tie scores and seven lead changes in the third frame … UNF first got rolling when Taryn Griffey posted a kill and FGCU's Erin Shomaker was blocked by Julianna Askew and Emma Dixon, tying the match at eight … North Florida rattled off a 7-2 run, taking a 15-10 lead … But, FGCU countered with their own run, tying it at 17 … The remainder of the set would see six more ties before the Eagles won it thanks to three-consecutive points on a service error and two attack errors.
